Parr Richey Frandsen Patterson Kruse LLP has provided legal services to central Indiana school districts for more than 50 years. The firm currently serves as general counsel for three districts and is often retained by others for assistance on special projects. Special work has included the analysis of tax increment financing proposals and defense of civil litigation or contested proceedings before the Indiana Department of Education, Indiana Education Employment Relations Board, and local election boards.
Kent M. Frandsen, chairperson of the firm’s School Law Group, has been a frequent lecturer to school officials through the National Business Institute and Indiana School Boards Association. Topics have included the retention and release of student and public records, pitfalls to avoid in employee hiring and firing, student discipline, and dealing with recalcitrant school board members. Mr. Frandsen is a member of the National Council of School Board Attorneys.
